I’ve been playing with the iPhone again and this time I’ve been using a new app that I bought, Snapseed. It’s from Nik Software and it comes at a price, $4.99. I often overlook applications that cost over a $1 or $2, but this one seemed to be worth it. It certainly has been. Snapseed allows for spot-specific adjustments on photos and it’s fairly intrinsic to use. It has some unique special effects too, such as “Vintage,” “Drama,” and “Grunge.” If you’re looking for an app to play with, I’d recommend it. Here’s a few of my recent images.

Great! Love the snail and the dresses. Now I wish I had a smart phone…
well, when you’ve saved enough pennies for an iPhone, make sure you set aside the additional $4.99. smiles.
Definitely worth that $4.99!
thanks. i sure think so.
Amazing, will have to download it!
look forward to seeing what you shoot…
Really liked the sailboat and the cars.
thanks.
It was one of the first apps i ever bought! Love it!!!
and it might be the last i’ll have to buy (although, i know it won’t be).
I love Snapseed. It’s redeemed some crappy photos that I was ready to trash.
i know, sometimes you make an image when the light is not quite what you’d want it to be and you think, “perhaps i can still get something artistic out of this one.” but i don’t want it to make me careless. i always want to strive for that best shot.
stunn8ing imagery. Love the abstraced stuff! ( Crysler etc)
appreciate it!
Its so exciting going there ist it ..finding the patterns in front of your nose with a camera that just get missed without! Ill post also over the months with my own abstractions if you are interested: http://johndwmacdonald.wordpress.com
Ok, you’ve sold me! I’ve started to really use my iPhone for close up shots of flowers. It has been working a lot better than my digital camera (I am not a professional but am trying to learn how to take better pictures for my blog). I just purchased this app yet must admit embarrassingly enough that I can’t find the options for the special effects. Where do you find these options? Can you tell I’m a beginner! (This is how I learn though…by following people like you!). Thanks! nicole
I imagine you’ve found them by now, haha.
