Himachal Pradesh – the little people

I was looking for some themes while editing photos from Himachal Pradesh and decided to post some photos of little people. This is the third in a series of photos from Himachal Pradesh in the Indian Himalaya. You can find the first post here, and the second post here.

The first photo was made of a school girl in the village of Sunam. She is wearing the traditional Kinnauri hat.

In this next photograph a child gives a “namaste,” the traditional greeting in this region of the world.

One of my long term themes is photographing “blue.” So it was nice to catch a scene in a part of Giabong Village that was painted blue. This boy is playing with his homemade car, made from pieces of scrap wire.

Every time I look at this next photo it makes me smile. This is a sister and her brother as they engaged in some playful fighting. The image was made in the village of Ropa.

The last photo from this edit is of a young boy who’s family is stationed at an army base on the outskirts of Giabong Village. Being high in the himalaya, bordering China, there is a sizable army presence.

There will be more to come from Himachal Pradesh, as well as a look back at some other travels soon.
