I only had a couple few days to photograph in the North Carolina mountains this fall. It seemed as though whenever I got on the Blue Ridge Parkway it was overcast. The overcast sky does sometimes bring out the colors that would otherwise be overwhelmed by direct sunlight. While I missed out on magnificent light, I took the challenge to make the best under given conditions. So without further adieu, these are the images I made this year in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.

Your photos as usual are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for passing them along!
Pure serenity. Makes me long for a road trip!
you’d probably be on the roadside collecting all the little wilted things to photograph, and turning what is hardly noticed into the most magnificent art…
Just beautiful! Love the photos.
Kris
Thanks Kris!
Gorgeous!! Love your photos!
Thanks Meg!
I love my home! As much as I wish we had somewhere to move to (ie., a job) I am so glad we got one more fall season in Boone.
It truly is one of Appalachia’s favored places…

Beautiful series of photos, the colours are superb. We travelled along part of the Parkway back in June and it wasn’t as beautiful as this. Guess we went at the wrong time of the year 🙂
Yeah, summer is pretty green, I’m always amazed at the autumnal changes. Try late October next year!
I love autumn. I need to make it over to North Carolina is seems to see that show. Thanks for sharing.
It’s certainly well worth the trouble…
Wow, beautiful!
Thanks Meghan!
Absolutely Beautiful…a couple of those shots took me away, made me take a deep breath….that cool weather, warm sun, beautiful blue sky feeling. Thanks for being a phenomenal photographer!
You are too kind, and now you’re making me miss it too! It is my favorite time of year…
Such beautiful colours!
