Great Fountain is one of Yellowstone’s moodiest geysers. During this past summer I was able to make a few trips out to see it. I found it to be remarkably different most any time I visited and decided that it was indeed a geyser that revealed itself in myriad ways. These are my impressions of it from the summer of 2015.

love the evening/night shots
Thanks, it is special at night!

It was certainly a good one Melinda, and I’m thankful to have another season in 2016!
Can’t wait for the pictures. They’ll be jaw droppingly awesome as usual
Stunning – I especially love the evening shots with the sky reflecting in the pools.
Thanks Joseph, that’s when she’s at her best!
Great pictures! It’s quite interesting that changing time of day or lens can capture such dramatic differences.
Isn’t it though? such dramatic differences for this geyser!
Yes, so beautiful and could make a good tutorial on how to use the camera to get the shot you want. 😉
Thanks for the continued encouragement Mrs P
Wow these are all quite stunning as to be expected! Thanks for sharing. I think the third one is my favorite but they are all spectacular.

Gorgeous range of colors.
Great photos! Same subject, but very different images, wow!
OOO, thanks! Love the range of colors. The one with the double suns is my favorite. How close are you to the geyser?
Thanks Linda Sue, I was able to stand about 15 feet from the edge of that Geyser.and would not want to erupts it is truly impressive.
