Great Sand Dunes National Park in twos. These images were all made using the Nikon D700 and mostly a fixed 20mm or 35mm lens. While a couple are similar to shots made on the iPhone, you’ll find that most of them are new perspectives on one of my favorite parks.
Two views of Great Sand Dunes National Park at night
Two views of the Sand Dunes and Mt. Herad
Two views of plants among the dunes
Two views of trees (and a magpie)
Two views of the hills above Medano Creek
Two views of details in the dunes
Two views of dustings of snow
Magnificent work, Russ.
Thank you!
Wow! Awesome.
Thanks!

wow, that first night shot is amazing — doesn’t even look real! I’d definitely buy a print of that image… 😉

the second picture is my favorite. How’d you do that?
20mm lens, ISO 1600, ~ 30 second exposure, tripod. And patience waiting for night and the clouds to do just right…
Fantastically beautiful! Am not even attempting to pick a favourite…I can’t.
That made me smile, thanks!
Breathtaking shots. The starry skies are particularly beautiful, but the solitude and peace of the others are wonderful. Love them.
Thanks, I appreciate that! Hope you’ll stop by often…
A series with a mysterious beautiful mood. Each one is wonderful!
I certainly appreciate the kind words coming from such a gifted artist herself!
WOW The second one is unbelievable!
I hear that, it’s definitely been a favorite for people.
You are truly talented Sir. Great photos!
Thank you, Sir!
