Jerusalem is a port city on the shore of eternity -Yehuda Amichai, Israeli poet
ירושלים היא עיר נמל על חופו של נצח יהודה עמיחי, משורר ישראלי
This week’s post is all Jerusalem, as seen from various vantage points around the city, from morning to nightfall.
ההודעה של השבוע היא כל ירושלים, כפי שנראה מנקודות תצפית שונות ברחבי העיר, מהבוקר ועד רדת החשכה.
“…the earthly Jerusalem will one day fade away into the Heavenly Jerusalem.”
“… ירושלים של מטה תהיה יום אחד נמוגות לתוך ירושלים של מעלה”.
The Psalmist gave us these words, “Pray for peace in Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper.”
התהילים נתנו לנו את המילים האלה: “התפללו לשלום בירושלים. מי ייתן וכל מי שאוהב את העיר הזאת ישגשגו”.
Great pictures.
Thanks, I appreciate it!

Thanks Hannah, yet I’m jealous that you’re in Iceland every time.

Oh, Jerusalem… beautiful pictures. Loved the first two, and the market scene. They do their job of being just perfectly evocative.
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed them, and I appreciate the kind words…
Russ, we always ALWAYS love seeing all your photographs and being able to go with your “around the world.” God’s world is so beautiful, glad we get to experience a little of what you see.
Thanks y’all, I enjoy seeing the world through your eyes too!

I just returned to America after being in Israel for the last two months. These photos helped me remember why I love Israel so much! Thank you for also including the beautiful quotes, especially with the accompanying Hebrew.
My pleasure, Israel is an amazing country…
If only I’d had your beautiful photographs to hand when I first read Simon Sebag Montefiore’s biography of the city … A terrific portrait 🙂
