This is a scene familiar to most Alabamans. The little red boathouse at DeSoto Falls has become somewhat iconic. Most of the images are made in the fall, so thought I’d pay a visit in the spring, trying always to see things in a different light.

Alabama (the whole South, really) is definitely on my travel bucket list. There just seems to be so much incredible history to explore in that part of the country.

Does it ever house boats anymore, or is it just for decoration?
That’s a good question. I don’t think it currently houses a boat, but many along the Little River still do.
