This is a scene familiar to most Alabamans. The little red boathouse at DeSoto Falls has become somewhat iconic. Most of the images are made in the fall, so thought I’d pay a visit in the spring, trying always to see things in a different light.

That looks nice and peaceful
It’s a beautiful place…
Nice and cool..
Thanks!
You Welcome..
Loved the photos. One of your great gifts as a photographer is making the viewer feel a part of the scene, and making the viewer want to be a part of the scene. Hope that makes sense. It is early…..;-)
That’s a nice compliment sis, appreciate it!
Alabama (the whole South, really) is definitely on my travel bucket list. There just seems to be so much incredible history to explore in that part of the country.
Great image!
People who visit the south are generally greatly surprised at the warmth of the people and the beauty of the land. You should definitely make the time to visit.
Beautiful scene enhanced by that wonderful lighting.
Thanks David!
the second one is amazing, like from a fairytail.
Appreciate your kind words!
There’s something about certain shots that go straight to some special place in one’s brain – that second shot of yours keeps bringing me back for another look – just beautiful. 🙂
That’s the second time I’ve heard about that second shot. It’s truly special to know when a shot affects someone like that. Thanks for letting me know!
🙂
Beautiful photos!!
Thanks so much!
Does it ever house boats anymore, or is it just for decoration?
That’s a good question. I don’t think it currently houses a boat, but many along the Little River still do.
