North Dakota Skies

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. -Psalm 19:1

Passing through North Dakota, I had one evening to explore the North Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. As the early afternoon turned towards evening and the clouds developed I hoped it would be special. It was beyond anything I could have hoped for. I found a place on a plateau where I could watch for 360°. Everywhere I turned I was in awe.

  1. So beautiful. The Dakotas are hidden gems. They have an understated beauty that many people have never discovered. We survived a spectacular thunderstorm camping in the Badlands one summer that I’ll never forget.

  2. What good fortune you had in being surrounded by such beauty in one evening! Beautiful images! I live about 41/2 hours north. Your images have inspired me to go on a road trip.

    • Lisa, I’m really thankful to hear you say that. There’s nothing better than inspiring people to explore. Of course, I see from looking at your work that you need little in the way of inspiration!
