The Roseate Spoonbill. The richness of their blowzy pink feathers against an azure blue sky always catches my eye. They are both graceful and gangly. These images were made during the winter of 2017, mostly at the Merrett Island National Wildlife Refuge in Central Florida. I rejoice every time I get to spend some time with them.

Thanks Alice, appreciate your comments! While I’m about to enter a land without internet for several months, I’ve got posts that will post automatically every Thursday throughout the summer so hope you’ll come back often!
Beautiful photos. I love the Roseate Spoonbill, though it has eluded me everytime I have my camera with me. I’m starting to think my trusting camera is Spoonbill cryptonite. Thanks for sharing, hopefully my luck changes this year.
Hope you break the spell this year!
