Alabama to Alaska…To Jasper and Scenic Route 40

I stopped at a coffee shop in Calgary to plan the route north and settled on a scenic route that would take me through Banff and Jasper, and after that, more mountains on the way towards Grand Prairie. The weather was cloudy and some snows had fallen the day before but as I neared Jasper the skies cleared and gave some nice views.

Switzer Provincial Park. RBT_1385-Edit.RBT_1389-EditSnow began to fall pretty heavily and it was a white knuckle drive to Grand Cache and beyond. Closer to Grand Prairie it lighted a bit and I was able to make a couple of images in a small town before Grand Prairie. RBT_1394-Edit.RBT_1400-Edit-2After that I’d head to Dawson Creek and the official start of the Alaska Highway.
