I stopped at a coffee shop in Calgary to plan the route north and settled on a scenic route that would take me through Banff and Jasper, and after that, more mountains on the way towards Grand Prairie. The weather was cloudy and some snows had fallen the day before but as I neared Jasper the skies cleared and gave some nice views.

It was fun meeting some Indian tourists along the way.
The following were made of the Athabasca River along the Icefields Parkway as it was just beginning to thaw for the season.

The next morning I headed towards Hinton and decided to take the scenic route through William A. Switzer Provincial Park.
.
Snow began to fall pretty heavily and it was a white knuckle drive to Grand Cache and beyond. Closer to Grand Prairie it lighted a bit and I was able to make a couple of images in a small town before Grand Prairie.
.
After that I’d head to Dawson Creek and the official start of the Alaska Highway.
Beautiful photos! 😀
